Originally constructed in 1931 in the desert foothills of Phoenix by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr., Wrigley Mansion is more than a majestic historic estate, it’s also a love story that’s spanned nearly a century. Built as a 50th-anniversary gift to Wrigley’s beloved wife, Ada, it changed hands several times until it was saved from the wrecking ball and lovingly restored by another couple, Geordie and Jamie Hormel.

Although Geordie sadly passed away in 2006, Jamie continues to run this grand estate, completing a year long renovation in 2021. Today, Wrigley Mansion is recognized as Arizona’s premier fine dining and special event venue, home to Geordie’s, Jamie’s Wine Bar, Christopher’s at Wrigley Mansion, six private dining options, and a beautiful ballroom.

Perched atop a private knoll in the heart of the luxurious Biltmore neighborhood, Wrigley Mansion commands the most dramatic views in Phoenix, from the saguaro-studded mountains to the distant city skyline. Still adorned with original tilework that was shipped from the Wrigley family’s tile factory on Catalina Island, and carted up the hill by donkey, Wrigley Mansion’s spectacular architecture combines elements of Spanish, California Monterey, and Mediterranean styles.

After it was sold by the Wrigley family in 1973, the Wrigley Mansion changed hands several times, but by 1992 the city of Phoenix was planning to tear it down to make room for condos. That’s when the late musician and philanthropist, Geordie Hormel and his wife, Jamie, who’d fallen in love with the property, jumped in to save it. Together they worked to restore it, and also ensure the inherent magic of this majestic landmark could be shared with everyone.

Jamie Hormel

Jamie Hormel has been an active member of the greater Phoenix community for three decades. She is a mother, philanthropist, activist and successful businesswoman. Her dedication to the Wrigley Mansion began as a joint act of love to save the building from being demolished, and it has not strayed. In her personal home and at the Mansion (the valley’s home), you will find family, friends and guests gathered with laughter, great food and even better wine. Her commitments to comfort, hospitality and a positive guest experience are large reasons why the Mansion is so well kept and maintained.

While a lot about the Mansion has been preserved over the years, plenty of growth has occurred as well. Jamie has led it to be the home of two successful restaurants (Geordie’s Restaurant and Lounge and Christopher’s at the Wrigley Mansion), Jamie’s Wine Bar, immaculate ballrooms, and a variety of private dining spaces. Her experienced and refined taste in architecture, design and decor cannot be ignored throughout the property.

Jason Caballero

  • Jason Caballero is the CEO of Wrigley Mansion and brings more than two decades of experience in the restaurant world to his role. An accomplished wine professional, he earned the title of Advanced Sommelier in 2017 and is currently pursuing the prestigious Master Sommelier diploma. Jason is a long-time member of GuildSomm and, in 2024, accepted a seat on its board. He also co-founded the Society of Arizona Sommeliers, a group dedicated to educating and supporting aspiring wine professionals.

    Before joining Wrigley Mansion, Jason served as Wine Director for Maple & Ash in Scottsdale and as Lead Sommelier at Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina, also in Scottsdale. His career reflects both deep expertise and a commitment to mentorship—qualities he now channels into building one of the largest and most respected wine programs in the country, right here at Wrigley Mansion.

    Jason is passionate about creating an environment where staff can continue to learn and guests can experience wine in a way that feels welcoming and unpretentious. Known for his positive, personable approach, he enjoys sharing his knowledge in ways that spark curiosity and connection. “A bottle of wine is 750 milliliters,” he often says. “It’s meant to be shared—just like the knowledge about it.”

    As Arizona’s dining and beverage scene continues to grow in sophistication, Jason is proud to help lead Wrigley Mansion in setting the standard—pairing world-class wines with exceptional hospitality in one of the state’s most iconic settings.

Jessi Struck

  • Jessi Struck is the Director of People & Culture at Wrigley Mansion, supporting the entire staff in recruiting, onboarding, and enhancing the overall employee experience.

    A third-generation native of Arizona, she graduated from Pinnacle High School’s first class and later from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. With 15 years of experience in leadership, organizational development, and corporate hospitality, Jessi takes a servant-leadership approach to guiding the People Team. She is proud to be part of the Mansion, working alongside some of the most talented individuals in fine-dining service and culinary excellence.

    Jessi values kindness above all and has a unique ability to find the silver lining—and even humor—in difficult situations.

Shari Appleman

  • Shari Appleman has been with Wrigley Mansion for 18 years, coming to us with a background in journalism and as an early adopter of digital publishing. As Marketing Director, she is our tie to all things online and in print.
