the galaxy

As soon as you walk into Christopher's Restaurant, you'll be greeted by a spectacular piece of artwork called "The Galaxy" by Rotraut Klein-Moquay. This is just the beginning of the many special artistic touches you'll find throughout the restaurant.

A large window showing a cityscape with mountains in the background, with partial view of a sign that has red cursive writing reading '...st Construction'.

CHARGERS

As you enter the dining room you'll see the tables set with unique chargers created by local artisan Christiane Barbato of Blue Door Ceramics that feature whimsical drawings by Chef Christopher of his iconic pig and rabbit designs. Other dishes are hand-crafted by Match Stoneware.

A black table set with wine glasses, a decorative lamp, and a white plate with a black sketch of a face. Sunlight and shadows cast on the table, with garden scenery visible in the background.

Saut dans le Vide

One of Chef Christopher's favorite images, is in the hallway, "Leap into the Void" ("Saut dans le Vide," 1960)  "...a definitive artistic statement and a technical tour-de-force by three collaborators: the genre-defying artist Yves Klein (1928-1962) and photographers Harry Shunk (1924-2006) and János Kender (1937-2009)..." It is a fascinating piece and is worth reading about.

paOlo soleri

During your chef’s tasting meal, one of your dishes will be covered by Cloche designed by Paolo Soleri, an artist and architect whose designs are also incorporated into our Cosanti wine coasters.

Parnassian of Chocolat

Other special touches include a gold leaf image of Chef Christopher's renowned Chocolate Tower (Parnassian of Chocolat) by photographer Samantha Nieto and a painting by Chef Christopher of a woman holding the famed dessert that was auctioned off some 20 years ago and recently came back to hang in the restaurant.

So many details by local artisans – including Chef Christopher - are incorporated throughout. Christopher’s vision for the design and playful features provided guidelines for architect Wendell Burnett, for Build Out Construction Zone, and for the distinctive hearth by Sean Goldenstein from Studio Iron in Arizona. Christopher’s at Wrigley Mansion received a Citation Award in the Distinguished Architecture category of the 2024 AIA Arizona Design Awards.

All of these special touches come together to create a truly unique and memorable dining experience at Christopher's.
