The Formal Dining Room

This room has beautiful architectural details including the grand arched window, which is mimicked by the archway above the entrance and highlighted by the mural. The floors are original pegged-oak hardwood and the original table and chairs can be found upstairs in the Geneva Room.

The Wrigley’s entertained their guests in this room. Note original wall sconces with a fleur de lis and pineapple design. The pineapple is the international symbol of hospitality and wealth. The Wrigley’s decided to have decorative pineapples all throughout the home as a fun way to welcome their guests.

The ceiling was never completed. William passed away before the it was finished andAda insisted it remain incomplete because she didn’t know what William’s final plans were.

The original wine cellar is in the corner. The Mansion was built during Prohibition, so technically no one was supposed to be drinking wine.
