The Switchboard Room

This small - but very popular room is where the family would make their private phone calls. The walls and ceiling are lined with the foil used in gum wrappers from 1931. William had similar foil rooms in all five of his mansions to remind him of his humble beginnings and where his fortune came from. The Wrigley family never hired an operator. William insisted that all the family members learn the technology for themselves.
